New CancerX Cybersecurity Mark, Powered by Clearwater, signifies a commitment to meeting enterprise-grade
security standards in health systems
TAMPA, Fla. and LOS ANGELES (Feb. 24, 2026) – CancerX has formed a strategic partnership with Clearwater to launch the Cancer Cybersecurity Mark, Powered by Clearwater, a program that prepares emerging oncology technologies to meet enterprise-grade security standards before deployment in health systems. The announcement was made during the ViVE 2026 conference.
CancerX is committed to accelerating the delivery of lifesaving and experience-improving innovations into the hands of patients and providers. Central to that mission is addressing one of the most persistent barriers facing startups: navigating cybersecurity and compliance reviews. Repetitive, resource-intensive reviews slow the
deployment of new technologies and delay patient access to critical tools, resulting in delays.
The CancerX Cybersecurity Mark, Powered by Clearwater, establishes a trusted, scalable framework to equip startups with the knowledge, controls and validation needed to meet institutional security standards, moving beyond “check-the-box” compliance toward meaningful, enterprise-grade readiness.
“Every delay in implementation is a delay in impact for patients,” said Kamal Jethwani, MD, MPH, CancerX Lead and vice president of Digital Ventures at Moffitt Cancer Center. “This program matters because it helps us bridge the promise of technology with the safety and security needed by enterprise systems. Working alongside our health system and industry members and with support from health care’s leading cybersecurity firm, CancerX is building the operational foundation that allows emerging cancer solutions to integrate securely, scale confidently, and improve patient outcomes without unnecessary bottlenecks.”
The program unfolds in two integrated phases:
The assessment step delivers a structured readiness assessment and provides education, benchmarks and gap analysis aligned to healthcare security standards. This assessment will provide a prioritized roadmap to becoming enterprise ready. If the company meets all standards, it will receive the mark to indicate that level of readiness.
The preparation step advances operational maturity through fractional vCISO support, managed security services and continuous monitoring to ensure controls are implemented and sustained, as well as actioned based on the prioritized roadmap identified in the assessment step. This phase includes security questionnaire assistance, MSSP-led cloud security management and continuous monitoring through a dedicated security operations center to ensure controls are implemented and sustained.
“Trust is the currency of healthcare innovation,” said Baxter Lee, MBA, president of Clearwater. “Health systems must know that the technologies they bring into their environments are secure, compliant and resilient. This partnership with CancerX creates a transparent, structured pathway that helps startups demonstrate that trustworthiness early, long before procurement decisions are made.”
The launch of the CancerX Cybersecurity Mark, Powered by Clearwater, reinforces CancerX’s broader mission to catalyze innovation in cancer care and to systematically remove the barriers that slow its path from development to patient impact.
